Blüthner is proud to announce two incredible masterclasses in Vienna, in March and May, held respectively by Angelika Kirchschlager, an acclaimed Mezzo Soprano, and the soloist and conductor Florian Krumpöck.
Singing - Angelika Kirchschlager, Mezzo Soprano
Austrian Mezzo Soprano, Angelika Kirchschlager, divides her time between recitals and opera in Europe, North America and the Far East. She is acclaimed as one of the foremost interpreters of the operas of Richard Strauss and Mozart. For the Vienna State Opera her roles include Dorabella, Octavian and Clairon (Capriccio). For the Royal Opera House her roles include Melisande (Pelleas et Melisande), Sophie (Sophie’s Choice), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) and Octavian.
She has a wide discography on the Sony Masterworks label which have won numerous awards including a Grammy. Her latest releases include a disc of Liszt Songs with Julius Drake, Hugo Wolf and Schumann lieder with Helmut Deutsch, an operetta arias and duets “My heart alone” with Simon Keenlyside and Handel arias with the Basel Chamber Orchestra and Laurence Cummings.
Piano - Florian Krumpöck. Pianist & Conductor
Celebrated as soloist and conductor alike, Florian Krumpöck proved himself as an exceptional phenomenon on international classical music scenes. In 2011, he was appointed one of the youngest music directors in Germany. As such, he masters an enormous range of opera, symphonic, and piano repertoire. He especially knows to captivate audiences in his dual role of soloist and conductor.
Last season, Florian Krumpöck conducted guest performances of the Norddeutsche Philharmonie at the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg, as well as a live concert transmitted by Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich with the Symphony Orchestra Liechtenstein. He also conducted the traditional New Year’s concert in the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony for the first time. In June 2015, Florian Krumpöck led the Bruckner Orchestra Linz in the Klassik amDom-Gala, with soloists Angelika Kirchschlager and Michael Schade. The project brought spectacular reviews, laying the foundation for a close collaboration with UNIVERSAL in the future.

A limited number of practice rooms is available. Upon request, we are to provide assistance with finding suitable accommodation.
A maximum of six students are accepted per course. Full scholarships to cover tuition fees are provided by Blüthner. Travel costs and expenses will have to be covered by the student.
